Freewallet Announces Launch of New EOS Wallet for iOS and Android

Freewallet, a mobile-first crypto wallet developer, has announced the release of its new EOS Wallet for iOS and Android where users can store, send and receive the new EOS coins operated on its mainnet. Most importantly, all transactions can be performed completely free of charge.

Initially, EOS was an Ethereum-based token issued to support the creation of EOSIO, a blockchain platform for the development of decentralized applications (DAPPs), similar to Ethereum in function. After the release of the EOSIO platform, the mainnet was launched, and EOS became a standalone coin.

According to a blog posted on the company’s website, Freewallet has released an entirely new type of EOS wallet which can be topped up with almost any cryptocurrency. Users can also keep their EOS in Multiwallet (on Android, iOS and the web), which manages multiple coins and enables users to cross-exchange them in one place.

Additionally, all transactions between Freewallet users are instant — a feat made possible via off-chain technology — the future of personal financial services.

Previously, following the mainnet launch, all EOS holders had to personally register their tokens on the block.one website. But this time Freewallet sorted it out at their end by registering users’ EOS in bulk.

Also unlike other EOS holders, Freewallet users do not have to deposit their ERC-20 EOS tokens in the exchange to swap them with the new EOS.  So, if any of its registered users held any EOS(ERC20) tokens as on June 1, 2018, Freewallet automatically performed a zero-effect swap.

Regarding the launch, Alvyn Hagg, CEO and founder of Freewallet asserted, “The long-awaited EOS coin is finally with us, and we are happy to announce a new dedicated EOS wallet to go with it. To celebrate this event, we enabled completely free transactions and automatically swapped your ERC-20 tokens. It isn’t X-Mas yet, just Freewallet.”

Freewallet is the company behind the digital currency hosted wallet with a built-in exchange for the web, iOS and Android devices, capable of holding Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Monero, Bytecoin, and many other cryptocurrencies in one place. Recently, Freewallet was listed as the third most popular online wallet for Android.
