HTMLCOIN, a hybrid crypto token that integrates smart contracts into the Bitcoin Core protocols, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kinasang’an Foundation Inc (KSFI) to develop a platform where they will secure newborn birth data on ALTHASH, its native blockchain.

The partnership was signed on September 26 at the Philippine Consulate in Chicago. As the memorandum assures, KSFI will be empowered to upload and secure the research outcomes coming from its use of the aforementioned blockchain through its Myoffspring, a decentralized application (DApp) which registers newborns’ place and date of birth, as well as the names of the parents, and other vital information.

Contributing To Social Impact

htmlcoinThe nature of the partnership is non-profit and is chiefly for contributing to social impact. And as for HTMLCOIN’s part, the memorandum has secured it an important ally in the healthcare sector in Southeast Asia.

Stephen Kaiser, Program Manager of HTMLCOIN, said in a blog update that the technology will provide particular benefits to the non-profit health sector work conducted by the aforementioned partner.

Kaiser continued:

As the overseer of the Wellness Family Midwife Clinics in Mindanao, Philippines, KSFI will select one clinic to serve as a model clinic whose newborns will have their birth data registered on the ALTHASH blockchain. The ALTHASH team will then upload/hash the research outcomes resulting from KSFI’s use of the blockchain.

Reducing Newborn Deaths

The partnership, if proven fruitful, would drastically reduce the number of newborn deaths, which reaches about 2.7 Million every year. To address the problem, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) initiated the Every Newborn Action Plan in 2014 to decrease the number of newborn deaths and stillbirth. But in Southeast Asia, particularly in the Philippines, the problem remains, as critical information is scattered across different healthcare facilities and is often difficult to access when it matters most.

That is why the partners are hoping that with their efforts, the gap would be bridged, and many newborn deaths would be prevented.

The ALTHASH blockchain also has another DApp named TokenFarm, which is created to assist entrepreneurs in rewarding their loyal customers. Furthermore, the blockchain intends to release 25 DApps in a span of six to twelve months.
