Player Tokens’ crypto collectibles will launch 26 tokens of the U.S. Women's National Team Players Association members, the market’s first female tokens.

U.S. Women's Soccer

Player Tokens, a supplier of blockchain-based digital collectibles, has announced a partnership with the U.S. Women’s National Team Players Association (USWNTPA), a labor union for women soccer players in the U.S. Player Tokens will release 26 crypto collectibles that feature 26 members of the USWNTPA.

The First Female Athlete Digital Collectibles

The announcement was first made via REP Worldwide, the exclusive licensing and representation agency of the USWNTPA.

As per the announcement, fans of the squad will be able to purchase individual collectibles or packs containing three players during the launch. The tokens’ prices start at $3.99.

The sale of USWNT Player Tokens will be the retail market’s first digital collectibles that feature female athletes. Kush Parikh, the Founder and CEO of Player Tokens has taken notice of this dearth of female player crypto collectibles and decided it was an apt time to introduce them.

The Founder said:

“There is an untapped market for women’s sports collectibles and we are proud to be trailblazers in partnering with the USWNTPA to develop Player Tokens for each of the current members of the team. Our approach to growing the digital collectibles market in women’s soccer is focused on bringing our technology’s value and experiences to the hands of consumers. This partnership gives us the unique opportunity to interact with a diverse and engaged fan base.”

Introducing Soccer Fans To A New Line Of Collectibles

Blockchain SoccerThe release of the 26 digital collectibles comes as the US Women’s National Team enters the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Championship on October 4th. This tournament marks the first stage in the team’s process in defending its World Cup crown.

The USWNTPA partnership with Player Tokens is Player Tokens’ second major partnership with a players association. Its first partnership was with the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) in August 2018, and the launch featured athlete collectibles from all 30 MLB teams. The new partnership with the USWNTPA will take the same format.

Meghan Klingenberg, the U.S. Women’s National Team World Cup 2015 Champion and REP Worldwide Advisory Board member stated that the partnership with Player Tokens is part of a larger effort to break new ground in women’s sports.

The Advisory Board member said:

“Player Tokens is a new innovative way for our players to connect with our passionate fan base. As we continue to break ground for women’s sports, especially fighting to make progress on the revenue and business side, we felt partnering with a progressive company like Player Tokens was a perfect fit.”

Player Tokens’ new partnership with the USWNTPA is focused on bringing crypto tokens to soccer fans all across the world.

The company is developing blockchain-based assets in the evolving and digitizing world of sports collectibles. Just as with physical collectibles, digital packs can be bought with credit or debit cards.

Each USWNTPA Player Token comes with a unique ID tied to the blockchain, which authenticates the ownership of every collectible. These digital tokens allow fans to share with each other.
