Nebulas, the next-generation blockchain platform, will release its upgraded mainnet, the Nebulas Nova v.2.0 in Q4 2018. The new mainnet will include performance enhancements, such as full integration with a ranking system and an incentive protocol for developers and community members.
The Nebulas Nova v.2.0 Upgraded Functionalities
The upgraded Nebulas Nova v.2.0, will have full integration with the Nebulus Rank mechanism, a system that ranks universal value. Its other upgrade, the incentive protocol, is named the Developer Incentive Protocol and it will work towards incentivizing users who contribute to the blockchain.
Nebulus has released the roadmap laying out the next phase of its main network, or mainnet. It is comprised of the two new developments to the coming system. The technical functions of the new upgrades are as follows:
- Nebulas Rank (NR): The composition of a native on-chain and quantifiable standard to value on-data by quantifying the amount of specific accounts on the blockchain while appraising the blockchain’s aggregate economy at a macro-level.
- Developer Incentive Protocol (DIP): The provision of a native on-chain incentive for developers to build applications and smart contracts on the blockchain that can produce value on the Nebulas blockchain.
Consolidating The Blockchain
The consolidation of NR and DIP will allow Nebulas Nova to offer an alternative to the currently disorganized blockchain data landscape. Through this new orderly system, users will be able to easily discover and assess applications of value on the Nebulas blockchain.
Nebulas Nova will be built atop the underlying structure of LLVM to support the NR and DIP upgrades along with their stable operation. LLVM is a collection of modular and reusable compiler and toolchain technologies. The NR algorithm will also be cached on fully open-sourced, and transparent mainnet blocks.
Nebulas Nova had first announced the mainnet when the Nebulas Rank Yellow Paper was published in Q2 2018. It will be released after the launching of the Nebulas v.1.0 mainnet, Eagle Nebula. This was the first iteration of the Nebulas mainnet, which has for over 6 months, stood through heavy usage and other tests. Eagle Nebula currently has 240,000 accounts, 11,000 smart contracts, and 6,800 DApps, which far exceeds the number of smart contracts (by double) and DApps (by triple) on Ethereum.
The blockchain sector has been met with rapid evolution, which entails everyday upgrades on technical requirements and capabilities. To meet such requirements for modern blockchains, Nebulas aims to cultivate its inner power, or “neigong,” a concept of Daoist philosophy.
Bearing this in mind, the Nebulas v.2.0 Nova mainnet will come with several performance upgrades. Nebulas Rank, Nebulas Incentive Protocol, and the execution environment of Nebulas will all coincide with the release of Nebulas Nova during late 2018.
Nebulas Nova sets out to transform the landscape of blockchain data from its current disorderly state to a well-managed, discoverable one. Through its upgrades, Nebulas will be the first public chain to feature a native developer incentive built onto its blockchain.
