In a press release published on September 16 via PRNewswire, the organizers of the massive XBlockchain Summit 2018 revealed that the conference was slated to happen on October 9 – 10, the same week as the annual meetings of both the IMF and World Bank. The event will be held in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia.
The summit is organized by both the Indonesian Blockchain Association (ABI) and XBlockchain. The conference will look at the themes of international wealth transfers and financial inclusion, with a devotion to exploring the real-world applications of blockchain in the financial world.
XBlockchain will host several debates and discussions with global leaders from institutions such as United Nations, IBM, Deloitte, Stellar, Pundi X, and representatives from the world’s leading experts in not only blockchain, but other industries like healthcare, financial inclusion, supply chain management, high finance, music, gaming and more.
Lithuania’s Minister of Finance, Vilius Sapoka, will provide insight on the European Union’s views on regulation, and share his views on how regulation, in conjunction to suitable infrastructure, can help hasten the adoption of blockchain technology.
Other speakers announced for the summit include Susan Oh of United Nations’ Blockchain for Impact, Inge Halim of IBM Indonesia, Paul Sin of Deloitte’s Asia Pacific Blockchain Lab, Chia Hock Lai of the Singapore Fintech Association, and more from the US, Europe, Australia, and Asia
Jed McCaleb, the Co-Founder of Stellar, will talk about the future adoption of blockchain technology and his work on a new global infrastructure for cross-border payments. Meanwhile, Pundi X CEO and Co-founder Zac Cheah will reveal the next generation of blockchain tech for real-world implementation.
Jason Hsu of Taiwan, will be on hand to talk about the state of the digital economy, blockchain, and regulations while Dharmendar Sesungkur, Minister of Financial Services and Good Governance of the nation of Mauritius will talk about his work in making Mauritius a global blockchain hub.
Steven Suhadi, the Chairman of Asosiasi Blockchain Indonesia, was hyped for the upcoming event, saying:
