Re-Hashing A Cryptocurrency Debate

The debate will be held at Coinsbank’s third Blockchain Cruise on the Mediterranean, during September 7th-11th. The discussion will serve as a reprisal of the series of public debates on Bitcoin Cash, held by Ver and Song earlier this year. has confirmed in a recent tweet that the two crypto leaders will again discuss the hard fork of Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) during this round of the debate. The topic will center around Bitcoin Cash, as the altcoin has had steep rises and falls in profitability during the last year.

Jimmy Song had interviewed Roger Ver in a YouTube livestream about scaling Bitcoin, in which Ver declared that decentralizing a developmental team makes Bitcoin Cash more secure, since there is no power from a central authority.

He opines that the increasing transaction costs of BItcoin will make the cryptocurrency obsolete.

Last June, in a tweet, Ver said:

“If you think BTC with its full block, high fee policy will be able to maintain market share, you are mistaken. It won’t and it’s time to move on to other things.”

The Clash Of Opinions On Bitcoin Cash And Bitcoin

Contrary to Ver, Song believes that necessary changes can be made within Bitcoin. In a Medium article published before the Bitcoin Cash release on August 1, 2017, Song maintained that Bitcoin Cash raises more questions than answers.

Song said:

“One thing is for certain: if you want to maximize your holdings, it’s in your best interest to get your Bitcoin off third-party services and control your own private keys before August 1st.”

BCH BTCAmong the largest problems within blockchain transactions are their slow speeds. The debate will focus on how Bitcoin Cash addresses the issue of scalability and the speed of the verification process on blockchain, the two reasons why Bitcoin Cash had been created.

The debate is also set to increase the visibility of Bitcoin Cash as well, as it is not fully established in the cryptocurrency community, especially when compared with Bitcoin.

Tone Vays, a Blockchain consultant and researcher will also attend the debate, along with other well-known speakers.
