Litecoin Dips To $97, Fell 74% In Two Quarters

The world’s sixth-biggest cryptocurrency in terms of market financing, Litecoin, dropped to its lowest 2018 level on Wednesday.

While LTC has reportedly suffered a drop of over 60% since the start of the year, it is now trading at $97.04, according to the data from Bitfinex. Litecoin has slid a total of 74% from $379, its peak price recorded on Dec. 19.

On Dec.20, LTC’s inventor Charlie Lee posted in Reddit that he disposed of all his crypto assets after which Litecoin started to plummet, previously disclosed by CoinDesk.

At the time of this writing, Litecoin price is down 6.3 percent in the last 24-hour period at $99.50. Other major cryptocurrencies are also down.

Bitcoin is currently on a 70-day slump dropping to less than $6,500 on Tuesday. The 24-hour report on Bitcoin was negative 3.8 percent.

EOS, ethereum, XRP and bitcoin cash were posting a 24-hour deficit ranging from 5 to 10%. At the same time, it was noted that the total cryptocurrency market capitalization dipped below $300B.
