Blockchain Studios, Ethereum, Takes Car Racing Into Virtual Reality

Blockchain Car Racing

For the first time, online gamers can own a digital collectible car which they can race in virtual reality. This announcement was made on May 15th at the CoinDesk’s Consensus 2018.

Blockchain Studios, a venture production studio and a blockchain software developer, presents “CryptoCarz“, a multiplayer, immersive, VR-enabled gaming environment where you can own and race limited-edition virtual cars in eSports tournaments. Each car has different looks and performance features.

The virtual cars are sold on the official CryptoCarz website through a series of online auctions. These assets are recorded in the Ethereum blockchain as ERC721 non-fungible tokens whose ownership can be easily transferred. The cars are stored in the owner’s wallet.

Production of a dedicated CryptoCarz marketplace is in the offing to allow users to trade their cars in a secondary market.

Daniele Sileri, Chief Executive Officer of Blockchain Studios “declared“:

“CryptoCarz is the first platform to bring together blockchain, VR, and gaming technologies. By giving gamers news options to visualize, own and adapt and race their own car, we think a new era in gaming has arrived.”

Blockchain Studios is a “joint venture” between three groups — Active Genes, a Dubai and Hongkong-based blockchain solutions consultancy, and a strategy, software and product developer, Shadow Factory, a Hongkong and Toronto-based B2B virtual, augmented, and mixed reality production services company, and Diginex, a full services provider for Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies with offices in Hong Kong, Switzerland, Germany and Japan.
